The Police have arrested a 25-year-old man for allegedly raping a four-year-old girl to death in Ganye Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
The suspect, identified only as Nenekenso, said to be related to the girl’s father, allegedly took the girl for a walk and had canal knowledge of her.
On that fateful day, he was said to have visited the residence of the victim's parents and taken her out as usual, while the mother was busy attending to some domestic engagement only to be welcomed with the lifeless body of her daughter by villagers.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Othman Abubakar, confirmed the incident, saying it was under investigation.
It was gathered that the girl’s mother had once caught the accused inserting his finger in the girl’s private part.
She, however, did not tell her husband but warned the man against further sexual assault on the little girl.
The suspect is currently cooling his head at the Criminal Investigation Department of the command.
