Baby Aisha was born with her heart outside her chest early hours of Tuesday.
The sums of N2.5m and N3m were donated by the Yobe State Government and the First Lady, Aisha Buhari respectively for baby Aisha to be flown to a special centre in Enugu for surgery but unfortunately she died early this morning at the Maiduguri Teaching Hospital.
Dr. Pius Simon the consultant Neonatologist, who was caring for the baby ahead of her operation said baby Aisha died of infection due to the fact that the heart has stayed outside the chest wall for too long.
May her precious soul rest in peace. Amen
