On April 8, it was reported that a married female gospel singer Yvonne Omoarebokhae, died in a hotel room in Benin after her encounter with Apostle Psalm Okpe, General Overseer of Fresh Oil Ministries, Lagos.

There were many sides to the story as many claimed that, she gospel singer was drugged and sexually abused by the pastor, series of autopsy reports has also been carried out as the accused was locked up in prison for about two months.

The Benue-state born pastor regained freedom on June 2 and he finally narrated his own side of the story.

Unidentified gunmen suspected to be militants struck again at Imuti and Igbobi areas of Ikorodu in Lagos state in the wee hours of today, June 24.

Aisha Buhari, the wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR has written a warning letter to the Ekiti state Governor Ayo Fayose through her Lawyer, demanding a full withdrawal of his accusations.

Fayose recently accused the President's wife of involvement into the Halliburton scandal. In the letter, she said Ekiti state governor was directly responsible for the publication of the “very wild and unfounded” accusations in the media.

POLICE ARREST 2 MEN FOR DEFRAUDING CAR DEALERS WITH FAKE CHEQUES AND BANK ALERTS

                              

According to Vanguard, two men, who specialize in defrauding car dealers in Lagos by issuing fake bank cheques and fake bank alerts, met their waterloo yesterday when one of their victims, identified as Ifeanyi, raised the alarm when he discovered that an alert he got for the payment of the vehicle sold to the suspects was not genuine.

The suspects had succeeded twice in issuing fake bank alerts and stealing cars from dealers at car marts before yesterday’s attempt was foiled. Ifeanyi became suspicious of the transaction after he allegedly received bank transaction alert for the payment of the vehicle.

His suspicion paid off after his assistant, who was sent to the bank to confirm the payment, informed him that the said transaction did not reflect in their bank account. Another car dealer, who spoke in confidence, said yesterday was not the first time criminals were using fake bank alerts to purchase vehicles from the park and getting away with it. He said: “God has exposed them today. The last time it happened, the bank server was down so they just allowed them to go. Later we found out that it was a fake alert.”

The suspects, who were almost lynched by the dealers, confessed to have succeeded with two vehicles sometime ago from the same New Way Park Berger, via same method.

The suspects were later taken to the police station. When contacted, Lagos State Police spokesperson, SP Dolapo Badmos, said the case was not reported at Kirikiri Police Division.

As a result, a ban was placed on all his music by the DJs Association of Nigeria (DJAN), barring all DJs around the country from playing Terry G’s songs, while a public apology was demanded from the erring singer.

FIRE GUTS LAGOS AIRPORT HOTEL, DESTROYS VALUABLES

                                    


A section of the Lagos Airport Hotel on Obafemi Awolowo Way, Ikeja, was gutted by fire on Monday, destroying no fewer than three halls, two rooms and other valuables worth millions of naira.

The inferno resulted from a surge in electrical installations at a section of the Banquet Hall around 5am before it spread to the other parts.

Combined efforts of the Lagos State Fire Service, LSFS, and Emergency Management Agency, LSEMA, prevented the fire from extending to adjoining buildings‎.

It was further learnt that fire fighters from the Alausa station battled the inferno with three trucks of water and the fire ‎was later put out around 6am.

An emergency official, who craved anonymity, said operation ended at the hotel around 9am, adding that nobody was injured.

Baby Aisha was born with her heart outside her chest early hours of Tuesday.

The sums of N2.5m and N3m were donated by the Yobe State Government and the First Lady, Aisha Buhari respectively for baby Aisha to be flown to a special centre in Enugu for surgery but unfortunately she died early this morning at the Maiduguri Teaching Hospital.

Dr. Pius Simon the consultant Neonatologist, who was caring for the baby ahead of her operation said baby Aisha died of infection due to the fact that the heart has stayed outside the chest wall for too long.

BREAKING: OJB JEZREEL IS DEAD, 3 YEARS AFTER SUCCESSFUL KIDNEY TRANSPLANT IN INDIA

                                

Popular music producer, Babatunde Okungbowa, popularly known as OJB Jezreel , is dead, three years after a successful kidney transplant surgery in India.

According to reports his kidney transplant failed completely since last week and his family had to keep him on N35k dialysis to overcome the relapse.

He eventually gave up the ghost early this morning 14th June, just one month to his 50th birthday.

On October 21, 2013, the singer successfully underwent the surgery at the Indian hospital. After the successful surgery, OJB Jezreel , showered praises on his first wife, Mama J, for being there for him and donating one of her kidneys to save his life.

OJB Jezreel is survived by three wives, June ‘Ama’, Korede and Mabel and many children.

May his soul rest in perfect peace. Amen

A woman, Zainab Salisu, who allegedly disguised as a customer to abduct a one-year-old girl, Fehintola Lawal in the Abule Egba area of Lagos State has been arrested by the police.

Salisu was arrested on Wednesday by policemen attached to the State Department of Criminal Investigation, Yaba, in the Idimu area of the state.

Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed says Boko Haram are responsible for the ongoing scarcity of tomato in the country.

While speaking on Channels Television, the Minister of Information and Culture said: “People talk about the price of tomato but they forget one thing; they forget that the price of tomato today is a direct result of the fact that we have lost two years harvest to Boko Haram insurgency.
Most of the people you see riding Okada (motorcycles) in Lagos are people who would have been in the farm to produce consumable items. Do you farm where there is war?

We have lost two seasons of harvest, in addition, we have had very poor rainfall last year and this year. These are the combined factors responsible for the scarcity of tomato. Go and ask economists and agriculturists, they will tell you.”
