MAN ARRESTED ON HIS WAY TO CHINA WITH 130 ATM CARDS HIDDEN INSIDE CHERIE INSTANT NOODLES

                                  

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is currently investigating a case of ATM racketeering involving one Muhammadou Ibrahim who was arrested while on transit to China for carrying 130 Automated Teller Machine (ATM Cards) of two different Nigerian banks and a Chinese bank, concealed in a carton of Cherie instant noodles.

The suspect was nabbed at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano. When interviewed, he claimed to be a Nigerian with passport No. 09PC71337, bearing Muhammadou Ibrahim.

However, preliminary investigation revealed that Muhammadou is a businessman that deals in costume jewelry at the kasuwan kofar Wambai market in Kano.

The suspect will be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded.

In a video conducted by Azuka Ogujiuba of This Day Newspaper, obtained by Pulse, Tiwa Savage opened a can of worms revealing some things the public might not know about her marriage to her former manager. She revealed that since their baby was born, Teejay has never spent one naira on the baby. She also said she buys him all his clothes and all..just so that everyone watching their relationship can believe that he is truly the husband, that he fends for his family. 

She also said she cooks, and also hired a cook for everyone in the family as against his outburst yesterday. When he goes out, he comes back drunk and angry 7am the next morning. Revealing how there have been issues in their marriage for about 2 months, the singer broke down in  tears saying: 

“For the past 2 months me and TJ have not been together. I will say for the record I have never cheated on my husband, never, not with Don Jazzy, not with Dr. Sid, not with 2face, not with anybody. I am willing to take a lie detector test.

NYSC TO DEPLOY DOCTORS AND OTHER MEDICAL CORP MEMBERS TO IDP CAMPS

                                 


Brigadier General Suleiman Zakari Kazaure the Director General of NYSC who spoke yesterday at an IDP Camp in Damare, Yola said that Doctors, Nurses and all other Corp members affiliated with the medical field will be deployed across the country to all major internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps.

He stated that this was a measure to resolve the present medical challenges surrounding the camps. The Corp members deployed to the camps will assist in the daily activities while serving the nation.

“This programme, which is designed to bring succour to the inmates in this centre, is also intended to compliment government’s efforts towards provision of the welfare needs of members of IDPs nationwide.

“The scheme, therefore, will deploy the services of corps professionals such as medical doctors, nurses, pharmacist, etc to the centre to assist Federal Government in the provision of medical and other sundry needs of the IDPs.

“Specifically corps members will be participating in medical outreaches, environmental sanitation, educational intervention and general awareness creation on healthy living,” he said.

Kazaure also said that the scheme would use the opportunity provided by the programme to distribute food items and other materials to the IDPs.

He said that the flag-off of the intervention programme was his major official assignment outside Abuja and this was an indication of the importance the NYSC attached to the plight of the IDPs.

Kazaure urged other wealthy Nigerians and corporate organisations to assist government in rehabilitating IDPs in the country.

He commended the military, NEMA, Red Cross, NGOs and various faith based organisations for their contributions to welfare of IDPs.

“I want to thank you all, especially, the corps members who despite all odds are currently serving in the state,” Kazaure said.

The leader of IDPs in Damare camp, Mallam Modu Gana, lauded the intervention programme of the NYSC which he said was timely.

Gov. Muhammadu Jibrilla of Adamawa and the State Coordinator of NEMA, Mr Sa’ad Bello, also lauded NYSC for the gesture, which they said, reflected one of the objectives of the scheme.

EX INEC CHAIRMAN, MAURICE IWU DECLARED WANTED BY THE EFCC OVER N23B ELECTION BRIBE

                

Maurice Iwu, a former chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) has been declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in connection with a N23.29billion poll bribery scandal. The Nation reports that the former INEC chairman allegedly drew up the strategies on how the bribery could be perfected.

According to a source in the EFCC, the anti-graft agency has been on his trail in the last two weeks but he has managed to evade arrest. The source said: “Our operatives are still looking for him. We have put other security agencies on the alert. “He is wanted in connection with the N23.29 poll bribery perpetrated by a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke.”

The ex-INEC boss was said to have been rewarded handsomely for his role. During investigation, the EFCC discovered that the N23.29billion was shared to electoral officials in all the 36 states, some individuals and Non-Governmental Organisations, which deployed election monitors. There are indications that many INEC officials and ad hoc workers benefitted from the bribe.

There has been lots of stories about scammers withdrawing money from people's account, i remember a friend on my bbm group chat informing everyone in the group to ignore any message asking you to send your BVN details or your ATM digits.

I came across the below message on Facebook from Benjamin Zion, read his story below and learn from this.

Since last week Wednesday till yesterday, I frequently receive an SMS from this phone number: 234 803 413 8959. and the message read thus:
"Dear Customer, due to the BVN validation in compliance with CBN directives, your ATM card has been deactivated. Call our helpline on 08034138959 now.
My people, at first, I ignored it severally knowing that if truly its from First Bank, the SMS should've bear FIRST BANK name.
Then on Sunday, someone visited my house, so I decided to go withdraw but the ATM machine displayed that I've exceeded 5times of withdrawal which I haven't.
Now, I believed the SMS I got might be from the Bank Manager of the branch where I opened my account @ Onitsha.
Then today, around 12:17pm, I got same SMS and I decided to call because I'll be attending a seminar tomorrow here in Enugu which I need to withdraw money that will aid my transport and other expenses.
When I called, the number picked up & said "This Is FBN helpline, I'm speaking with Mr Benjamin Zion Arinzechukwu" I replied "Yes". He called out my account number & the last two digits of my ATM card. I was shocked then, I now believed it was from First Bank.
Throughout the dialogue, he was calling me Sir, Sir, Sir. I was convinced coz that's how bankers treat customers.
He asked me to call the 19digit pin on my ATM card, which is the Serial number & I dis exactly.
Within 4mins, I got this five code (28506) which I sent back to them as instructed. They told me to call Back after 40mins.
My people, within 25mins, I got an alert of #10.000, five times, which is 50.000naira.
I called back the number & complained; they say, they'll refund the money within the remaining 15mins. That they're testing the pin.
Then, I began suspecting the whole transaction.
I called a staff @ FBN Onitsha, the branch where I opened the account, her line was switched off.
I suspended the lunch I was preparing, switch off the gas cooker, dressed up like a mad man and made my way out of the house.
I stopped a Keke (tricycle), I even wore my belt and shirt inside the Keke.
When I got to the bank, I went straight to the Bank Manager's office (My new friend), I complained to him. He was mad @ me & blamed me for not calling him to confirm since I have his contact. I also blamed him for not informing me hitherto coz he knows such info & didn't informed me earlier.
He took me to the "Customer Service Unit", I was given a form where I penned down my Acc name & number. They blocked the ATM card & pin immediately.
Still @ the spot, I got a withdrawal alert of #30.000naira, summing it #80,000.
Many people came for same purpose; a lady was lamenting that after giving them her ATM Serial pin, within 30mins, she got an alert that she transferred 200.000 two times i.e 400.000naira. To one Mr Jude Okonta. Then, my anger was lessened, I began to thank God for making me notice on time & acted fastly.
I went outside & test the ATM card and it was blocked truly.
I called back the line, and the man/guy said "Sorry sir, for the inconvenience, we're trying to refund the money but there's poor network. I quickly lay curse upon the man, and gave him 1week to refund my money or he'll meet his waterloo.
How can a student like me lose such amount to nothing good.
Though I'm burning with ANGER & GRUDGES but
I decided to write an article on this, so that none of my friend will fall victim as I did today.

FG DECLARES MONDAY MAY, 2 AS PUBLIC HOLIDAY

                             

The Federal Government has declared Monday, May 2 as public holiday to commemorate the 2016 Workers’ Day Celebration.

Retired Lt.-Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau, Minister of Interior, made the declaration in a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Mr Bassey Akpanyung on Thursday in Abuja.

The minister congratulated Nigerian Workers for their resilience, hard work and commitment to the change mantra of President Muhammadu Buhari despite current challenges.

He enjoined them to continue to support the President in his desire to fight corruption, ensure security of lives and property and stabilise the economy through creation of jobs and diversification of the economy.

Dambazau further urged Nigerian Workers to re-dedicate themselves to the service of the nation and remain productive for the growth and development of the country.

The minister wished all Nigerian workers a joyful and peaceful celebration.

A man identified as Muhammed Lawal is currently in a critical condition at the Katsina General Hospital after he was set ablaze.
                                              
Narrating how it happened, Lawal said that he was sleeping outside his house at night due to the oppressive heat when he felt someone pour gasoline on him and set him on fire. He is asking the public to assist him as he can't afford his medical bills.

He can be reached at Lawan Katsina General Hospital, patients group room 3, bed 11.

TODDLER ACCIDENTALLY SHOOTS MUM DEAD WITH A GUN FOUND ON THE FLOOR BEHIND THE DRIVER'S SEAT IN THE CAR

                            

A toddler riding in the back of a car accidentally shot dead his mother with a gun that slid out from under the driver's seat, US police said on Wednesday.

The 26-year-old victim, Patrice Price, was pronounced dead at the scene following Tuesday's incident in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the local sheriff's office said.

The child, aged two and a half and identified by local media as a boy, fired the 40-caliber gun through the driver's seat where his mother was at the wheel.

Local broadcaster WISN quoted the victim's father as saying that she was a mother of three.

"This little girl right here meant everything in the world to me," Andre Price told the station. "And I lost the other half of my heart."

                              
The weapon apparently belonged to the victim's security guard boyfriend, with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel newspaper reporting that she was driving his car because hers had been stolen days earlier.

The sheriff's office said that deputies found a security officer's gun belt belonging to the boyfriend on the floor of the front passenger seat.


The mother and boy were on their way to pick up a horse, police said.
The firearm was recovered on the floor behind the driver's seat. An investigation is under way.

Also in the vehicle was another of Price's children, aged one, and the woman's mother. Neither of the children was in a car seat.

Price's mother told relatives that her daughter turned to her after a loud pop rang out and said: "Momma, don't let me die," WISN reported.

Following the shooting, fellow motorists stopped and pushed the car out of traffic before police arrived and performed CPR on Price while awaiting the arrival of emergency medical personnel.

“In the encounter 5 Boko Haram terrorists were arrested comprising 3 adults and 2 minors.
“The under aged male children were dressed in new Boko Haram uniforms we earlier reported. The troops recovered 1 truck, 2 Golf cars painted in mud, 4 bicycles and 3 x 5kva power generating set, as well as 55 bags of corn. “

POLICEMAN'S WIFE STABS LADY FOR LAUGHING AT HER

                

Policeman’s wife, identified as Mrs. Desola Ochoche allegedly stabbed neighbour,Mrs. Olaitan Ayobami for laughing at her on Monday at Etunrere Street in Ikorodu area of Lagos

The cop’s wife, Mrs. Desola Ochoche, fled the residence afterwards, leaving Ayobami for dead. But the lady got lucky as she was rushed to a private hospital in the area.

According to Punch, the attack was caused by a scuffle between the duo on Sunday when Ochoche reportedly challenged Ayobami to a duel for laughing at her.

It was gathered that they were separated only for the fight to resume around 6am on Monday when Ayobami, a teacher, wanted to bathe.

After the face-off, the teacher with her children were heading for school when the policeman’s wife, Mrs. Ochoche, ambushed her at the entrance of their rented building with a shard of bottle.

She was said to have chased her to the garage on the premises and stabbed her in the head and hand.

She was eventually arrested by policemen from Igbogbo Police Division, but released a few hours later.

Ayobami said she wanted Mrs. Ochoche to be brought to book, adding that she was still in pains.

She said, “On Saturday, I left my phone in my kitchen and when I went back to pick it, I found it inside water.

I wanted to challenge Iya Oby (Ochoche), but my husband warned me not to do so because I didn’t have evidence. On Sunday, she started singing abusive songs against me, but I did not reply.

“At a point, I laughed and she became angry. She poured water on me and we fought. While I was going to the bathroom on Monday morning, she attacked me and we fought again. Her husband separated us and warned her to let peace reign.

“I was going to school when she attacked me in the corridor and stabbed me with a shard of bottle. Her husband, who is a policeman, took her to the Igbogbo division, but she has been released. I want her to be charged to court.”

Mrs. Ochoche, who spoke with Punch on the telephone, admitted stabbing Ayobami. She, however, claimed that she acted to revenge an injury earlier inflicted on her by the teacher.

She said, “I have been warning her to stop insulting me with songs. She would accuse me of flirting around just because I am not employed.

It is true I stabbed her but she had used something to injure me in the face while we were fighting around 6am on Monday. I revenged so that she would know she cannot intimidate me.”

Asked if it’s laughter that caused the fight, she replied, “I don’t know. I’m on medication, want to sleep.”

The police spokesperson in the state, SP Dolapo Badmos, said it was a case of affray and the two women would be charged to court.

She said, “The two women injured each other and they have been released to go and take care of themselves after which they will be charged to court for affray.”

However for a human conveyor of hybrid stupidity like Daddy Freeze,when the urge comes upon him to drain out all the congealed shit out of his system,he does it in a totally different way from you normal humans.

FUEL SCARCITY - IG ORDERS ARREST OF SELLERS AND BUYERS OF PETROL IN JERRY CANS

                

The Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase, has ordered the immediate arrest of persons found selling or buying petrol and other petroleum products in plastic containers.

A statement by the police spokesperson, Olabisi Kolawole, said Mr. Arase gave the directive “to forestall the untold suffering and hazard emanating from the activities of black marketers”.
According to the statement, Mr. Arase ordered the Zonal Assistant Inspectors-General of Police, commissioners of the force across the states and that of the FCT command to arrest anybody found selling or buying petroleum products in plastic container.

Mr. Arase issued the directive in Abuja, stressing that fuel products such as petrol, are highly flammable and can seriously endanger people, property and the environment.
“It has also rendered some innocent and law abiding citizens homeless due to fire outbreak from jerry-can petrol storage,” said Mr. Arase.

While warning pump attendants at filling stations to desist from selling petrol inside jerry-cans or any plastic container, Mr. Arase said both the buyers and sellers of the products would be arrested and prosecuted under the law.

Mr. Arase, who assured Nigerians of the police readiness to fulfill their constitutional mandate, appealed for a more cordial relationship between the police and the public.

UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN STUDENTS PROTEST HARD, SHUT DOWN SCHOOL OVER RUSTICATION OF THEIR COLLEAGUE

                                     

Students of the University of Ibadan (UI) paralysed activities this morning in their protest against what they described as an “unjust rustication” of a 500 level student of Petroleum Engineering, Tunji Ekpeti Michael.

The students wondered why only a student was singled out for punishment after hundreds of them, last month, protested against poor power supply and inadequate water in the school.

The students, chanting songs of solidarity, vowed that the school gate would remain shut until the management rescinded its decision to punish Ekpeti.

The rampaging students also noted that the power and water situation in the school had still not improved, even after the protest.

A former student’s union leader of the school, popularly called ‘Tcool’ said the student’s victimization was inappropriate, saying that if the students did not fight it out now, more students would be victimized also.

U.S. BASED NIGERIAN MUSICIAN GETS JAILED FOR ATTEMPTING TO STEAL $3.5M IN TAX REFUNDS

                            

Olufunsho Adeshina, a native of Nigeria residing in St. Louis, was sentenced to 40 months imprisonment for his participation in a stolen identity tax fraud scheme.

According to court documents, Adeshina received $753,063 from more than fifty refunds by filing false tax returns in the name of various individuals. The refunds were sent to various financial accounts: some were in Adeshina’s name, some were in the names of businesses he controlled and some were in the names of identity theft victims whose information Adeshina used to establish additional accounts. Adeshina admitted he sought more than $3.5 million dollars in refunds, but most of the false returns were caught and not honored by the IRS.

                          

Adeshina was sentenced for one felony count of theft of government funds before United States District Judge Rodney W. Sippel. Adeshina has been in federal custody since April when he was arrested at Atlanta-Hartsfield Airport returning to the United States from Nigeria. In addition to the sentence of imprisonment, Adeshina was ordered to pay $753,063 in restitution to the IRS.

This case was investigated by Internal Revenue Service-Criminal Investigation.

WIFE DRUGS HUSBAND, SETS HIM ABLAZE

                                    

A middle-aged man has told the police how his wife alleg­edly set him ablaze after she drugged him.

He said his wife, Kudirat Tijani, sedated him on Sun­day, and set their apartment on fire with the hope that he would be burnt to death.

The victim, Abubakar Ti­jani, said he miraculously survived by divine interven­tion. It could not be ascer­tained why his wife allegedly wanted him dead.

He claimed that, shortly after the fire was put out late night on the fateful day, his wife rushed to his elder brother’s residence at Pasali Extension in Kuje, headquar­ters of Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and informed him of a fire outbreak in their apart­ment.

The brother, Salisu Tijani, corroborated the claim. Sal­isu, who reported the case at the Kuje Divisional Police headquarters, said at about 11.15pm of the fateful day, Kudirat reported to him at his residence that there was a fire outbreak in their flat.

On arrival at the scene, ac­cording to him, he met his younger brother, Abubakar, lying motionless on a bed severely burnt. He said he immediately rushed him to the Kuje General Hospital, where he was given first aid treatment before he was re­ferred to the National Hospi­tal in central Abuja for inten­sive care.

Reports said it was after he had regained consciousness at the hospital that the vic­tim gave graphic details of how his wife had allegedly wanted to dispatch him to untimely grave.

Meanwhile his wife, Kudi­rat, is presently telling the police her role in the inci­dent. “It is a very serious of­fence and she cannot be left off the hook just like that”, FCT Police Commissioner, Wilson Inalegwu, told Daily Sun yesterday on telephone, while confirming the story.

“The victim is alive, he is responding to treatment. If he had died, they would have informed us and the offence will change from causing grievous harm to culpable homicide”, he noted in re­sponse to enquiries on the fate of the victim.

But Kudirat could not be reached for her reaction as at the time of filing this re­port.

FEDERAL GOVERNMENT EXTENDS THE EXPIRATION PERIOD OF DRIVERS' LICENCE

                                 

The Corps Marshal and Chief Executive Officer of Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Boboye Oyeyemi, weekend said the Federal Government had approved the extension of the validity period of Drivers’ licence to five years.

The Corps Marshal explained that this was part of communiqué reached by the Joint Tax Board at the end of its 134th meeting held in Kano.

The Corps Marshal in a chat with Transport Editors in Lagos, said rather than Drivers’ licence expiring in three years, drivers now had the option of settling for either three or five years  licence.

But he noted that those who wanted the five years drivers licence would have to pay slightly more.

He noted that while drivers were expected to pay N6,000 for the three years’ licence, those who opted for the five years’ licence would pay N10,000.00.

According to him, the Board had approved an optional validity period for Drivers’ Licence of three and five years respectively at different cost to provide more efficient and effective service delivery to its customers.

NIGERIAN DRUG DEALER IMPRISONED IN THE UK SHARES PHOTOS OF HIS LIFESTYLE IN PRISON

                           
UK prisons are known to have a ban on wearing blings as a prisoner, and according to reports, 29-year-old Nigerian prisoner Babs Arogundade aka BP, disobeyed prison rules by wearing blings in prison.

Arogundade took pictures of himself wearing a £3,000 Datejust Rolex, a golden medallion and a Versace silk shirt, using a contraband phone and got his friend to share the pictures on Instagram using the caption “free BP”.  According to Sunday People, a source said ‘The pictures show how much respect he has for the prison system – none. He’s laughing at the authorities.’ The source said Arogundade practically runs the prison, stating that he lives like a king behind bars.

Arogundade who owned a Bentley before he was convicted of conspiracy to supply drugs and possession of firearms, flaunted his lavish lifestyle every chance he got. He was said to regularly spend thousands of pounds on champagne and expensive jewellery which included diamond-studded Rolex wristwatches. He was arrested after the police had spent some time monitoring his lifestyle and trying to determine his source of income. He was allegedly caught with four shotguns, a loaded Smith and Wesson handgun, a Winchester rifle, a kilo of 74% pure cocaine worth around £200,000, all stashed in a woman’s car. Weighing scales, plastic bags containing 1.22kg of crack cocaine and a cutting agent were also found when the police raided one of his associates’ Wembley address.

Arogundade is currently serving a 27-years jail term in a UK prison.

A father in India has chopped off the hands of a man who was accused of raping his seven-month-old daughter.

25-year-old Parminder Singh is said to have beaten the 17-year old man, tied him to a tree, and hacked off both his hands, before leaving him abandoned next to a canal.

The younger man was accused of molesting a baby in 2014, after allegedly being caught in the act by the baby’s mother. Police sent him to a juvenile remedial home as he awaited trial.

On April 19, he was making a court appearance in the Bathinda district of Punjab, when the baby’s father apparently lured him away by offering him an out of court settlement.

Swapan Sharma, a senior police officer of Bathinda said: ‘He (the father) took him near a dried up canal, beat him up badly and then tied him to a tree and finally hacked his hands off. Locals alerted police and we rushed to the spot. We picked him up, his hands, and took him to the hospital.’

He confirmed the man was in a stable condition, but said: ‘There is nothing below the wrists now.’

The police said they were now hunting for the father, a brick kiln labourer, who they will charge with attempted murder.

Two years ago a woman came to Blessing Osakwe's hometown in the south of Nigeria and told the young woman there was work for her in Russia. She told Osakwe she would have a job in a supermarket, and that it would take the her just five or six months to earn the money to reimburse the costs of the visa and the journey to Russia. After paying back the $40,000, Osakwe could keep all the money she made, the woman said.
