A Nigerian woman has been arrested in India for being in possession of cocaine worth around $3.8million (Rs 17.8 crore).
The woman, who was simply identified as 36-year-old Veeneta was picked at Sonauli area on Indo-Nepal border with the massive haul. Veneeta was arrested on Wednesday night while she was coming from Nepal and 3.5 kilogram cocaine was recovered from her possession.
Police Inspector Chandra Sekhar Azad said the woman has been booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
No news yet on what her judgement will be but India is known for zero tolerance to drugs.
