You remember the story we posted last week about a Nollywood actor, Ani Iyoho who got burnt on set of a movie? Well, it was a make-believe, let's just say we have all be puncked! I mean who would see a live video of a human being getting burnt in Nigeria and not think it is real? Who would have believed we could have such stunts played on our screens?
However, the man has released a new photo of himself looking perfectly okay along with a statement on his Instagram saying it was a movie fire that went well and that the scene showing him being burnt was only a hoax.
Below is a statement and photo he released on Instagram.
To my friends
"For most of you who have ever commented or sent a chat to me you know I do all I can to respond to them all. So it hurt me deeply to keep you in silence and in the dark during this period. I couldn't avoid it. The calls were maddening. My phone had to be turned off till the matter was resolved in public where it started.
"It worried the production that anything I might say as an individual may be misinterpreted further worsening the situation. I'm truly sorry beyond words for the emotional stress and inconvenience this might have caused you. It wasn't a publicity stunt for me as some might still want to have you believe. It was a huge misunderstanding, misrepresentation and misinterpretation of events of that day and it took a toll on me in ways I can not explain.
"I am however extremely humbled at the love, care and support I got from you during this period. Words fail me. I am indebted to you. Thanks for being there for me and my family. God bless you and yours. Amen
"I am well. It was a movie fire scene that went well.
"Ani Iyoho"
In an another Video on Instagram, he further explained how he took up the role and expressed gratitude to all his fans and friends.
To all of you who have doubts if your little brother Ani was any safe, this is proof no burns, nothing, it was just a scene in a movie, of which i did a stunt for that was totally successful, that went out of hand after the director posted something on his Facebook, bloggers took it and ran with it.
I think Gods hand was in it all, the movie really wasn't meant for me like i wasn't the initial cast for that role, it is not a major role also but yet God has used it to make me shine.
So I do not hold the bloggers against it, i do not hold the people who think that i was trying to prank the world, no sir, i don't hold it against you.
Below is a video showing the making of the fire scene:
