LONG AWAITED RESULT OF AUTOPSY CARRIED OUT ON LATE RONKE SHONDE HAS BEEN RELEASED
The long awaited result of the autopsy carried on the late Ronke Shonde killed by her husband, Lekan Shonde 2 weeks ago in the Egbeda area of Lagos has been released.
After speculations of an inconclusive report surfaced on Tuesday, sources say that the result reached detectives yesterday at about 8.45pm.
A Pathologist at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LAUTECH, signed the report, which revealed that the deceased had died of respiratory seizures, ruling out the possibility of the cause of death being due to the violent marks on her face.
However, sources said further medical checks finally attributed the cause of her death to “respiratory seizure as a result of water in the head and some injuries also in the head.”
With the report, sources said detectives would then continue with the next line of investigation, which reliably will include, among others, the mental stability of Lekan, who is still in their custody.
Recall that Lekan, who initially went into hiding after the incident, gave himself in to the Police in Lagos, where he denied culpability over his wife’s death. He was later transferred to the State Criminal Investigations and Intelligence Department ,SCIID, Yaba.
