Ondo State recently witnessed the commissioning of a luxurious hotel in Owo, Ondo State owned by the Oil Mogul, Prince Rotimi Ibidapo. The hotel, Best Western Plus Mydas Hotel and Resort Centre
was commissioned by the Ooni of Ife.
Prince Rotimi Ibidapo is the Founder and Executive Chairman of Derotech Group which is the first indigenous Petroleum Oil Service Company in deep water drilling business in Nigeria. As a successful and respected petroleum engineering consultant in Nigeria, with nearly 20 years of experience in the Oil and Gas Industry; he has been involved in a wide range of other highly successful ventures.

With over a hundred staff working with him, Prince Rotimi Ibidapo is also the Chairman of Pacific International Drilling West Africa Limited (PIDWAL) under a joint venture between Derotech Offshore Services Limited and Pacific Drilling Operation Limited USA. He is a Nigeria partner to Saipem Oil servicing company in drilling services in Nigeria.
The ceremony which was well attended by dignitaries commenced at about 3pm after the arrival of the Ooni of Ife was followed by lavish reception at the hall which was named after the late Mother of Prince Rotimi Ibidapo. Late Mrs Racheal Ayiwobu Ibidapo
